What hand-checked means

Before an app is listed

1. The site loads securely and isn't just a waitlist.
2. Signing up works.
3. The main feature works. We use it for a while, like you would.
4. The plans and prices match the pricing page.
5. It genuinely does the core job of the tool it says it replaces.
6. It isn't a reseller, a directory or a rebrand of someone else's product.
7. It has a privacy policy, terms and a way to contact the maker.
8. Nothing obviously unsafe, like exposed keys or open data.
9. The maker is a real, reachable person or company, and proved they control the app's domain.
10. Every plan fits our limits: $5/mo or less to start, no personal plan over $10/mo, or $49 to pay once.

If any of these fail, the maker hears exactly what to fix.

After it’s listed

Every week we revisit each app’s pricing page and compare it with what’s listed. Every day we check that the site is still up. When something changes, the listing comes back to us before you see the new details, and an app that stays down is taken off the shelves.

The date on each “Hand-checked” mark is the last time we confirmed it.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell placement in results, and we don’t take a cut of what you pay. When we show sponsored spots in future, they’ll be clearly labeled.
